AC compressor cycling - not asking for cold
Folks - 2001 XJ Sport 6cyl auto. I got a new AC compressor last year. Since I've gotten the XJ out of storage I've noticed the compressor cycling off and on (5 sec on, 30 sec off) even though the climate control is not set to cool. Google searches came up with low R134, but that isn't the case. When I ask for cool it works.
I'm not sure what the control is for turning on the compressor clutch. Might this be a problem with the HVAC switch in the dash?
