Default AC/heat controls kill the motor?

I have an 01' Cherokee. When it is running, I turn on the heat controls and is shuts down the motor. Anyone hear of such a thing?

I've seen similar on other Jeep forums but no resolution.

I appreciate it. I've been ready through that thread, so far no luck. I'll keep grinding away. Thanks again.
