Freon leak? Loose fitting or ruptured hose? Does your compressor engage?

I would bet you have a refridgerant leak. It's not Freon, that was a brand name for refridgerant R12. You need R134a for your system, but you need to fix the leak and then use a vacuum pump to boil the moisture out of the system before charging the system.

Idea! Go turn on your jeep. Let it warm up. slide your selector switch to ac normal and make it cold. Pop hood, locate ac thingamajig. There's a big metal line running to/from the ac unit. Put your hand on it. Should feel like a massive ice cube. If it don't, then you're out of refrigerant, your ac is not receiving power, or the compressor is shot. Might be a combination of two or more problems.
good luck.

Hi, I am a Korean living in Seoul, Korea. My English name is Jonathan.

Afew days ago, I became a owner of 1994 Grand Cherokee Lorendo, but there was no owner's manual and out of ordeted AV.

It is hard to change and install new AV, because car technician cannot fix that without circuit diagram.
And there are also various hardships for managing my new car.
I'd like to take good care for my new vehicle.
Please help me and give manual of 1994 Grand Cherokee Lorendo.

My email is bluegood@gmail.com

Thank you~ ^^*

Check if the compressor engages ^^ there is a pressure switch near the hvac box on the passenger side I believe.. if your pressure is low or the switch malfunctions the compressor clutch will not engage.... if it isn't engaging you can jump it at the relay I believe. I did this to check if the clutch was working. I wondered why I didn't have pressure. Come to find out.the po took The condenser out.... weird huh.... oh ya and if you do jump it don't assume the switch is bad and leave it like that. If your pressure is too low the pump will not lubricate and you will burn it up if you run it too long.

A low pressure switch prevents a system from running in vacuum, which would pull contaminants such as moisture into the system creating acids that would be harmful to the system.
