Default ac/temp/volts

Ok I was just wondering how I can fix my problem in my 91 xj ok so when I turn my ac on it drains my power and kills the motor at a idle but when going do the road drop power some and makes it work hard and also driving with ac on it over heats my motor cause with it off I can drive all day at 210 to 220 but with it on it goes straight up to 240 to 250 plus so what should do beside drive with out ac

Any recent maintenance done? It helps us eliminate some things when we know what has been recently replaced/maintained.

Sounds like the a/c compressor is about to crap the bed.

Best I can tell that leaves the radiator, rad cap, water pump, fan clutch and efan to replace/check with regard to the cooling system. Could be a faulty IAC sensor effecting idle or carboned-up throttle body. Was all that stuff replaced at once and the problems started immediately afterwards?

If the "fluid was rust brown" that's a good indication that "the other person before" didn't do much maintenance.
