Default AC vacuum problem

Just bought 96 xj that when accelerating the AC stops blowing, let off the throttle and it blows as it should. I am sure it is a vacuum problem, but this is my first xj and not sure where to find or start looking for an AC vacuum line. Please helpit is hot in Texas! Buck

Does the air not blow at all, or just blows warm under acceleration? If just under acceleration are you running r134? If no air at all it might be the blower door actuator behind the glove box.

there is still a light hint of cold air under acceleration, but it is like the fan shuts off but I can still hear it running. Let off the throttle and it blows hard and cold. and yes I am running r134.

In my 94 xj I had a similar problem, and I ended up taking the glove box out and replacing a vacuum line that controlled the heater/defroster door. It never ran as cold as the r 12 did but that was the first year for 134a. Have you put your hand up toward the defroster vents to see if there is more cold air coming out under acceleration?
