ABS is not for off roading, the only real purpose of ABS is to maintain steering control in panic stops and to keep the wheels from losing their grip while hard braking.

I think you can disable the light in the dash just by taking out the relay in the fuse box under the hood

Yeah there are also two other fuses related the ABS motor in the same box..a 40amp and a 20amp

Ya but I can rebuild my carbs in an hour with a $20 kit and I can tune it with a jet instead of having to get a chip or trick sensor to trick an ecu. With the right combo of choke and throttle I've never had a day too cold to get any of my carb vehicles running and i live in new England. If I was building a serious rig for stuff steep enough to flood a carb I'd do a propane conversion and it will run upside down. But sorry getting off topic. If I bought my mom a toyota I'd want it to have abs for when she panics in a snowstorm. It has no place in my jeep

Yes, you may be able to rebuild your carb, but injectors typically don't need rebuilding, and they sure as hell don't need near as much maintanence, and are much better for fuel economy. Another bonus is not having to tune the injectors whatsoever like you do with a carb. My jeep has had the same injectors for over 250 thousand miles. In the 250,000 miles you can put on your Jeep, how many time will you rebuild the carb? More than once, I promise.

I also don't have to worry about combining choke and throttle at all when cold. I get in the truck, turn the key, and go.

I also don't have to worry about buying extra crap like propane kits and propane. Its fuel injected. Its fine as it is. It can already "run upside down" as you cleverly put it.

Keep in mind, there are many, many, MANY good reasons why all the new cars you see on the road are fuel injected and NOT carburated.

You may like them, it doesn't mean they are good.

I have a '99 Classic and it has the ABS light and I've felt the brakes shudder like they do when you stop on the breaks with ABS. I believe I have the 8.25 axle in the rear. Sounds like that is a pretty rare combo? I've wondered if I actually have ABS or not, but is there any way to check?
