Muaddib420...

I checked out the video you provided and decided to give it a try. Removal of the clutch face was about the easiest thing I've done on my XJ so far. I removed one of two shims, cleaned the two clutch surfaces and put it together in less than 30 minutes. 1 hour test drive was successful so I'm calling this problem solved. Thanks for the info.
(Now I can buy a lift kit with the money I saved on AC repair.)

Glad it worked out! Yeah today was 100 here and my AC never cut out once. I also removed one shim and wire brushed the two faces. Bonus is my compressor is more quiet than its ever been.

Finally got the problem fixed. Hose below the battery was cracked and leaking. Thanks everybody for the ideas!
