I had a 93 explorer sport v6 4x4. it was a reliable truck but the thing rusted out so bad I had to give up on it. my 1990 jeep is so much cleaner in comparison, although it does have some rust.

I am just kidding. I had a Ranger at one time and it was a pretty decent little truck. Until I had to replace the clutch. It was a 1990. I think they have probably changed there design by now. The throw out bearing was made of a plastic.

when I decided to look for another 4x4 I considered another sploder. I saw this and got inspired:
then I remembered how my 93 just sort of rusted away to being useless, plus my mustang misadventures and decided not to get any more fords.

If that Exploder up there was SAS'd and didn't have those obnoxious flares I would call it nice.
I'm not trying to start a flame war, just stating opinions. So nobody get bent.

Actually, not all of the 5.0L Exploders were AWD. And, the Exploders that had 4.0L's were PIG's too heavy for the engine. A Ranger with a 4.0L on the other hand will move. I would not trade my XJ for one, but if I were to get a stock ranger, it would be a 4.0L/5spd 2WD. At least with the 2WD's and the twin I beam, there are parts to correct the god-aweful alignment and tire wear issues.
