Default Annoying electric fan rattle.

Whenever I go up a hill or quickly accelerate, which I do a lot of, my electric fan turns on and just keeps rattling until I stop accelerating or get to the top of the hill. There is a piece of piping coming off of the radiator, that's what the fan is rattling against. I just need to know if it is ok if I glue a piece of foam, or a sponge, or something to the fan so it doesn't rattle against the pipe.

minersville pa? Lots of good places to go wheeling up there! Anyway, is it hitting the pipe thing? With the engine off can u feel play in the the fan? If you can feel a decent a mount of play the the an might just be bad.

Oh trust me, it's pretty lose. there is nothing connected to the bottom of the fan it is just held in place on the top. It's nowhere close to falling of or even coming loose it's just that it shakes forward and backward when you move it or when it kicks on.

Just out of curiosity, where do you live? not a lot of people know about minersville because it is such a little town.

That's what I was thinking of using, but what happens when foam a/c insulation gets wet? Maybe a high density foam pad would word.
