Another ABS question.
On my 01 XJ the rear ABS wires are physically cut and just hang from the bracket on the rear axle housing. The rear brake backing plates have no sensors installed and the axles themselves have no reluctor rings pressed on them. Clearly when someone installed the rear disk brake conversion they just didn't bother to install the rear ABS. Which leads me to a question, I have no dash ABS light and there are no error codes being thrown so I assume the ABS system has somehow been disabled. I have to say I'm not entirely sorry the ABS is non-functional, but I am concerned that maybe the ABS system could still be active for the front wheels. Is that even possible? Can only the front ABS to be active or does the cut rear ABS wires indicate the entire ABS system has been disabled? Is there any way to determine what was done to disable the ABS, pulled fuse or something like that? BTW, where specifically is the ABS fuse located?

If the ABS module is still plugged in then the relay and / or fuse has probably been removed , and no the ABS will not come with just the front hooked up it would just set a code . what rear axle do you have in your Cherokee ?

My XJ has the D35 C-clip rear axle. In the four months I have owned this truck it has not set any ABS related codes which leads me to suspect the ABS has been somehow disabled in a way that it does not effect the computer.
