Default Another Dex/merc III question

Been seeing a lot of questions about tranny fluid changes and what to use as far a fluid type....Dex/Merc III....but what about brands is everyone using? Since its no longer licensed from GM and guessing no real standards being enforced/tested and most of the old real stock is depleted I'm sure not all are the same as far as quality. So what brand is everyone using? Thanks!

Look for "DEX/MERC COMPATIBLE". As you mentioned, original licensing for this standard has long expired.

Just because its DEX/MERC COMPATIBLE means its close enough so I'm looking for the good brands. Also just because its DEX/MERC COMPATIBLE does not mean is good for our older transmissions that was designed for dexIII. My understanding is got to be dex III as dex VI is thinner and made for newer transmissions and our older may have slippage issues.

You are over thinking this. Just buy a name brand DexIII/Merc fluid and be done with it. Seems to me the bigger question concerrns synthetic vs. non-synthetic.
