Another electrical problem
OK Cherokee Nation, I got one that's been driving me crazy. I have a 93 jeep Cherokee sport with a 4.0 that's been giving me problems for a while now. A while back I had a short in my system that toasted a few wires. I replaced all the wires the right way and checked all the relays and fuses in the system, but there is still a big bug. The dome light, heater fan, and power locks don't work at all, and the radio, windshield wipers, cigarette lighter, and turn signals wont work on engine start up but after you rattle the keys they kick on with the radio at 12:00. If anyone has any input on what this might be it would help out with the wiring.

I've thought about that but this thing with all the systems happened at the same time. It seems like it would be a relay but i haven't found the one that might cause this behavior.

None of that stuff operates off of relays (except power locks but those two relays don't affect basic power to the locking system).
What did the short affect?
Looks like you probably have two problems. The ignition switch does not control the dome light or locks but does control the other components (not sure about the turn signals offhand).
When the wipers, fan, lighter and radio come on when you rattle the key, the problem is almost certainly a defective or miss-adjusted switch or possibly a melted plug.

Haven't looked at a 93 lately but if it uses the GM column the ignition switch is most likely the culprit. The accessory side of the switch likes to burn up, new one is about 18$ and you may have to rewire the plug.
