Hey guys, I already did a search with no real answer. I have a 99. Went to the store yesterday, yada yada, came home did an oil change. Started it after the oil change and took a couple extra seconds than normal to start. Didn't really think much of it. Went to go to work this morning and no start. It cranks fine, has fuel, I can here the pump and the plugs are wet. It also has a nice hot spark..... Thoughts? This came from out of no where. She runs er I mean ran beautiful with no warning signs that there was an issue. I'm open to all feed back. I don't believe it"s the crank sensor cause it gets spark. It is getting the 3 basics for a gasoline engine... fuel, spark and air. Just as added info, it does not even try to start, just cranks. Thanks.

Welcome to the club.

If it's getting all three, there should be no reason for it to not start, so something is missing. Does it fire at all? For example:
(my no-start problem, not yet resolved) Or does it just crank with no signs of starting?

Then you're definitely not getting fuel or spark. How did you test to see that you were?

no, oil level is correct. I pulled the plugs and checked them against the block as my wife cranked it over. I can smell the fuel and the plugs were damp. i also tried a shot of ether.

I've heard it too. And seen it. Got a lawn mower once that the guy said it didn't run. Even the carburetor was completely filled with oil.

Then I've seen the opposite. I've heard of people draining their oil, and then getting in the car and starting it to drive to the store to go buy oil, and destroying them.

People are idiots.

Would a crank sensor cause it not to run? I'm gonna change plugs wires cap and rotor, just because it has280k on it and I don't know how old they are. Anyone else?

Yes, the crank sensor would cause it not to run.

Cool

Or the temp sending unit in front. It tells the computer how to set the choke. try holding the gas to the floor, does it start? if so change the sending unit.

Well, I had the tranny out a couple months ago, so maybe I did something with the cps. I'll get a new one tomorrow and go from there.

Wow... $85 for a cps... I'm gonna do some more research on the jeep before I buy a non returnable sensor.

Should only be $30-$50... unless the year has anything to do with it.
