Another P1494 question
Greetings all,
I'm trying to get a newly-acquired 2001 XJ through our local emissions test. The CEL is on and a scanner reports that a P1494 code is set. I thought I'd check the simple and cheap things before splurging on a new leak detection pump.
First up -- a new gas cap. When I picked up the Jeep it was sporting a OEM gas cap apparently from a different manufacturer. Changed to an OEM Mopar cap but no joy on the code.
Next -- checking for obvious evap system leaks. A smoke test was inconclusive and a physical inspection revealed that a PO replaced the OEM line going to the charcoal canister. The repair was a bit of a hack as a "T" connector is being used to join the new hose to the canister (see attachment), since the two hoses appear to be different sizes. The plug in the unused leg of the "T" is very loose, so I'm going to fix that before moving on to a new LDP.
I'm not inclined to replace the hose going to the engine compartment as it appears to be in good condition. That hose appears to fit the connection in the engine compartment correctly, so I assume it's the correct size.
My question is -- does anyone know the OEM hose size of the connectors on the canister and the hose going to the engine compartment? I suppose I could buy one of those "Help!" vacuum connector assortments but I'd like to get it right the first time, if possible.
TIA!
