Default Another PARASITE draw

So here goes....

Bought a new to me 97 XJ, searched for over a week, while chasing everything down over the week, and finally today found this..... while I did the one fuse removal at a time, this was found by every fuse and relay at once. Then replacing fuses until the draw problem comes back.

I found the 50 amp battery accessory fuse and 5 other fuses tied together with a 3amp draw.
(any of the small fuses, or the 50a listed will bring the draw up)
fuse 27, 23, 20, 22,16.
(more then 1 plugged in the draw never drops and made finding the problem a S o B!!). 3 amp draw is present, and ties into the interior panel, more on this in a second.
Found this after more searching, there is a switch/something missing, I jumped it, and now have a 2 amp draw. The switch/something is on left fender right under the computer. Also, the brake light switch fuse 23, now is back in place with this wire jumped.

So, now I know with 5 engine box fuses out and 50a fuse out I'd check interior fuses being I have .03 draw.
I figured I'd plug in the 50a fuse 2 amp draw now) and go inside and pull every single fuse like I like under the hood. No, not one at a time as that didnt help, this is all out at once. Found a pass door module fuse #15, power seat circuit breaker #29, and now I am down to .80amps.

I am at a loss where to search, as i have unplugged everything i can think of. Removed a alarm system, repaired umpteen wiring mistakes and such. Normally I'm good with this stuff, but like I stated I'm at a loss.

Thanks for any info.
Nick

Check the wiring behind the driver's side rear cargo area. If the wheelwells are rusted at all, water can corrode those connectors and cause shorts. My XJ went up in flames! Luckily I got it out without too much damage.

Well opened the rear cargo area and zero water, moisture or rust. I'm shocked to how little rust I've found period.

Yes sir!
I built all brand new cables and military style clamps to boot.
when I pull the control and power wires from alt, nothing happens. as in draw stays.

After a few more days of digging and searching I am now at this point.

IOD fuse in the PDC is involved by the C1 plug on fuse block. Then i have 4 other fuses that have a draw of 1.78amp as well.

weirdest thing is IF either of the 4 fuses are plugged in, the 1.78amp draw is there.
my understanding is, fuse 27 (skim) fuse 20, fuse 22, and IOD fuse 16, all in PDC.

I assume you have the circuit diagram ?

If you post up the relevant section with good highlights, (like Dave did)

Then people can assist your electrical diagnosis brain power

Been snooping through the manual as time allows with work... there is a lot here. Weird layout as I am used to one big schematic and this is all broke down per circuit. Be a min to find everything.

Once you're used to it it's so easy to read. Even the index pages have links to take your straight to the page.

I hope that's not YOUR junction box. There's an awful lot of green inside it!
