Another Windshield Wiper Question
So today I changed out my windshield washer pump and it still didnt work, cleaned the corrosion off the rear pump reinstalled. Nothing.
Ran a separate power source to it.... it worked fine. I'm pry gonna have to by pass the wiper controller and add a switch to the setup I'm gonna use for my lights. (Ghetto but effective I guess)
Whats annoying me more than this, my wiper arms refuse to lay flat again after I turn them on. They lay as pictured, can anyone advise me on how to fix this?

I have the same issue with my wipers on both my XJ's. When I got my windshield replaced on my '87 the tech mentioned that it's a common issue on Cherokees due to the linkage getting worn out over time. Obviously new linkage would fix the problem but I don't know who sells it, if anyone, and how much that would cost. Maybe someone knows if it's possible to adjust or tighten up the linkage?

I remember when I broke my windshield (twice in 2 weeks) the tech that put them back on told me a way to adjust them. They sat a bit high, so he showed me how to pop some clip out, move the wiper down, then push the clip back on and it would rest at the new position. Seems too simple for what your issue may be I guess, but it just readjusts how the arm sits on the motor.

If your problem is the wiper bushings like mine was i used this kit i bought at advance auto parts. it was a real pain in the butt to change them but i have NO play in the arms and the wipers work like factory new. remember to put a little bit of white grease on the ball when snapping them back on. it helps putting it togeather and helps slow the bushing ware. if i remember right i only used the 3 in the upper left in the picture in the link below.
here is the link to the bushings
