Default another wiring question... license plate light?

So my license plate light is not working, and the cops around here WILL pull you over for that in a heartbeat. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for that? I didn't see where in the fuse box it is associated with.

I see the license plate light on there, the line labeled 1-10, is that a connector somewhere?

Honestly, I'm still learning to read wiring diagrams, and that's the only one I saw that mentioned the license plate light.

No worries. I'll break out my multimeter later, and start tracing wires...

I would think so.

Luckily for me, they sure improved the wiring diagrams and honestly, I think the 95 diagrams are at the peak. Not that it helps you out

I had a problem with no power to the license plate light. I ran a new wire to the left tail light for power. The main problem was running the wire in through the harness in the tailgate.

Note from DJ

Does the rest of your parking lights work when you pull the light switch out to the first position; both front and rear?

Also I haft to ask this; you did remove the license plate bulb and take your VOM meatier and check for continue across the pins; not just look at it?

Yes, parking lights work, no, I cannot find my multimeter. I have like 5 that I got for free for buying something at harbor freight, and they are all missing (I know they are not very good, but good enough for 90% of what I do). I was going to look for it today. I was going to work on it yesterday, but i spent too much time looking for my multimeter and then ended up streaming on my main youtube channel for a few hours, so ran out of time to work on the jeep.

It is common for a wire to break from bending at the joint at the upper part of the tailgate. If you don't get current to that wire or the ground is bad, then just run a wire to the tail light wire and it will work like it is supposed to

That's probably what I'll do just to keep it easy.

So... 1) I am stupid, the fuse was totally blown, I didn't have turn signals when I bought it so that's what I was looking at, I just assumed the running lights were working (the ones in the front were), since I've only worked on the lights during the day. and 2) I had it wired backwards. I worked on it on one of those days where I did too much in one day and got dumb... Thanks guys!

Note from DL

Good job another problem!

Now another question which FUSE was blown?
The answer will help the next Jeep owner with the same problem.
