Antenna
I have a 92' XJ with a broken antenna and cant seem to find where it goes into the dash for the radio. i have been told that some audio places will install new ones but i would like to just buy a junker and install it myself. If any of you have a diagram and instructions it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a power antenna?
Or is the standard antenna messed up that you need to replace the whole shebang?
The antenna enters the passenger's compartment via a grommet on the door pillar. Inside/behind the kick panel there is a connector. The antenna wire is a two-piece. From there it snakes its way around all the A/C-heater assembly behind the dash...up to the radio.
Most times the radio-end drops down after the radio has been removed/replaced.
Fish around for it. If not, carefully pull/tug the end under the dash and watch for movement
If you are looking to replace the power antenna unit...good luck.
J/Y will net you nothing in the way of a working unit. And I have not seen any aftermarket.
Standard mast antennas are a little easier to find. Just make sure you grab EVERYTHING. And I mean everything.
A BLACK mount is almost impossible to find. You will mostlikely end up with a "chrome" finish.
As for a mast...grab a nice black one off a late model S-10/Blazer.
They are a bit longer than the stock XJ and have a stabilizer wire wrapped around the length. Helps get rid of the annoying "antenna shakes". Besides, they will charge you for an entire antenna...might as well get one.

Yeah i found the two parts (motor and antenna) in the passenger fender and i have checked prices online but they are like 20 bucks. I will probably do the S-10 idea however.
