i know people swap in the grand cherokee seats but i dont know if it is a direct fit like you might have to switch out the brackets and if i am correct both the wj and zj seats will work. Only what i have read and can remember.

Nothing to add, just subscribing so I can get some ideas as well. The GF and I will be making trips to Minnesota and Colorado, so some comfy ZJ or WJ seats would be awesome!

My 1989 cherokee limited has comfy power leather seats that came stock. I would think that if you could find some nicer seats in a different cherokee they would bolt right in.

I can tell you that my 95 seat mounts are different than the 88 parts XJ.
I used the 88 seats in it, but had to redrill holes and is still not 100% accurate but they work.

I have a 01 Cherokee Sport and I am always looking for a cheap deal on some Cherokee Classic seats. They have more lumbar support, better cloth and adjustable headrests. They would be a direct bolt in as well.

the thing i have never liked about cherokee seats is how short the thigh support is. it only goes about half way down you thigh, it feels like. i keep thinking of putting my recaros in but htey are black and my jeep is tan inside. i would need the bases from another cherokee though so i could mount them since htey are currently on bmw mounts
