Default Anyone every attempt to rebuild the AW4 themselves?

I am starting to have more concern about my AW4 in my 2001 Jeep...it's starting to do funny things! If I get on it...it vibrates and accellerates but not like it should....I believe its the torque converter going bad...but I really need to have it checked. During all other driving it works just fine! It has 160,000 on it and I looked at the fluid and it good...but I plan to drop the pan and clean the screen and refill. Then drain and refill for the next couple of hundred miles cycles. My question is has anyone every tried to rebuild there AW4 themselves? What special tools are required? How difficult is it to do? Is there anything out there that could help me do the job if I decide to go that route?

Thanks for the help!

Bobby

Doesn't look like anyone has.....so I just ordered the ATSG book for the AW4 and I am going to see about doing this myself....Plan to keep the Jeep for a long time! I like it so I am going to put the money into it!
