Angry Anyone live in Vancouver Canada need expertise gauge cluster

My very first major problem is the instrument cluster stopped working

I have exhausted research about this and mainly from this site why I decided to join

My first major issue with my jeep (01 cherokee ) instrument panel dead

First the truck runs fine and starts without a hiccup and I have spent the week searching forums exhaustedly and at an end of my rope

Things I have done:

No concern with battery connections at the battery
I have a 0gauge wire running directly from the neg on the bat to the frame
I have checked all fuses (and I mean if it was attached to the truck it was pulled and checked!)
No check engine light and have obd2 it and no trouble codes
There isn't the "no bus" MSG on the tachometer
I have done the standard check instrument panel, only the key, cruise, airbag, engine and fuel (light not gauge) flash everything else including tach and needles don't come on
I have pulled all 3 plugs to the ecu for corrosion/loosnes no issue
I have pulled the instrument panel for the pins in the back and all nice and shiny and tight (and was working fine until it stopped driving down the highway)
I have disconnected the neg battery well over 12 hrs (to maybe reset the comp?) no go

Input on this site/forum will be taken gratefully as well

Now i Have the whole dash completely apart except to screws for the cluster,

I live in Vancouver and can drive the truck anywhere in the lower mainland some one would be willing to help in this matter and expertise of something I might overlooked..
for a cash/beer arrangement

im available anytime from tomorrow today to Sunday

Any willing parties would be extremely appreciated and grateful.

Cheers

I know you have checked every fuse in your Jeep, but try this to see if power is getting to the instrument cluster.

You'll need a digital Voltmeter.

Refer to the instrument cluster pinouts image below. The one you want is C1.

The connector you will be checking is C1, which is the instrument dock connector on your left (as viewed setting in the driver's seat).

With the ignition switch to RUN/ON, engine not running,

Touch C1 pin 8 with the meter (+) probe and (-) probe to pin 6. You should read battery voltage. If not keep the (+) probe on 8 and touch a bare spot on the dash frame. Battery voltage now? If you do see voltage now, the ground circuit for pin 6 (G108) may be bad.

Power to pin 8 comes from fuse 9 in the Junction Block.

Next, with the ignition switch OFF,

Touch C1 pin 9 with the meter (+) probe and (-) probe to pin 6. You should see battery voltage.

Power to pin 9 comes from fuse F16 (IOD) in the PDC.

If you don't see voltage during these tests, the respective fuse holder may be defective or the wires from the fuse holder to the C1 pins may be bad. It couldn't possibly be a bad or missing fuse (F9) because you checked them.

If you do get voltage and the ground circuit (pin 6) is good, the instrument cluster should work. However, a problem with the instrument cluster may be its micro processor that drives the electromechanical gauges in the cluster is defective.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the help I've got it fixed!!!!!

I know I'm a newbie and my first time posting so I hope it was a reasonable relevant post/question

I did go through previous posts on this issue prior and read the posting req's
Before I did.

The reason for the rush is I don't keep the truck here full time no parking available and where it stays is at a cabin on an island a 2hr ferry to get to ( which I had to catch Sunday night) just FYI not for selfish reasons what I'm meaning

I look forward to getting involved and contributing to the site

Again thanks. Cheers
