Kill switches are usually used as either an anti theft device or to keep the battery from draining when the vehicle sits. I will be installing two kill switches to my fuel pump. As with any anti theft device, it can be defeated, but when you add multiple things for the the thief to defeat it delays them greatly and/or makes them change their mind about stealing your rig. A thief wants to get in and out as quick as possible, they don't want to sit around trying to find multiple kill switches and other misc theft deterrants. Usually after a thief finds the first kill switch, bypasses it, and the vehicle still wont start they decide to move on.

Thanks for the explanation. I never considered it as an anti-theft device because we have little or no auto theft where I am in Indiana.

No problem. Auto theft and break in is a huge problem here in Pa, especially with modified vehicles. My Jeep has been stolen twice and broken into three times, and I live in the middle of nowhere in the woods. They drive around looking for targets and strike when the time is best. Modified cars just scream "Money"
