Default aussie front locker sound when in 2wd?

I am just curious if you guys hear any noise from the front differential with a aussie/lunchbox locker in the front when you are driving in 2wd. I hear a very slight ratcheting noise any time I am not going perfectly straight. It is not the typical loud ratcheting noise I hear when making a hard turn, but a subtle turning noise. I recently replaced the differential fluid and the carrier bearings looked fine. Any input is appreciated!

Perfect, I was just asking about this a couple days ago and got no replies. So an aussie in the front (non disconnect axle) in 2wd wont affect on road driving except for the sound right?

Well in my case, I hear that slight noise. It is not unbearable, but I don't know if it is a normal sound or if there is something else wrong causing the noise. When I drive in four wheel drive, I do hear what sounds like loud crickets chirping haha and you can't use four wheel drive on pavement with the locker just fyi ( you can't turn)

Anyways though the locker works just fine. The locker does cause the shaft to turn up front probably decreasing your mpg, and causing a little more wear on part. I have a detroit in the rear which is silent and I would never put an Aussie in the rear. Do me a favor and if you install an aussie, get back to me once you do and let me know if you can hear yours at all in 2wd like I can.
