I have the same concern about removing the carrier as XJersy but my 98 XJ has 3.55's in a Chry 8.25. All the folks at Aussie told me was that the installation in my axle was the same as any c-clip axle. I just don't feel too confident about pulling the carrier. I put a lock-right in my CJ with a Dana 44 so I know I can pull spiders and slap in a locker but thinking about all of problems with not setting up a rear end correctly spooks me. I am not sure I have the knowledge to do it correctly. So....my question is, do I have to pull the carrier to install an Aussie in a Chry 8.25 with 3.55's??
