Until Chrysler goes out of business and closes its doors for good they will still be using some technology.

It was designed by AMC which was later bought by Chrysler. Just like the transmission is an Aisin-Warner.

 

Chysler made trans blow, theres no denying that. Like in Rams and their minivans, i always joke about my buddies ram that has been thru a few trans but the AW4 is a great trans

 

I agree my brother has had a few Grand Cherokees and the transmissions suck. If they continued having other people make their parts for them they probably wouldn't be in the mess they are in.
