Default Automatic Transmission Fluid Fun

So here's one of those wow I can't believe I did that moments. Or let it happen I should say.

Went to change the oil and had a buddy that wanted to learn so I had him get under to pop the plug. Well I didn't pay enough attention and I believe he drained the transmission fluid instead.

So now my question is how to go about refilling. I know there are mixed feelings on flushing fluid and what not. So give me your best. Thanks guys.

Well if you're really worried about putting new fluid in it, and the old fluid looks good, and it was drained into a clean container then just pour that back in lol. You fill from the trans fluid dipstick with a funnel. Honestly I'd just put new fluid in it, add some Lucas stop-slip if you're high mileage.

Measure the amount drained (probably 2-3 qts). Use a funnel and pour like amount of ATF back in through the tranny dipstick tube.

Also remember, trans fluid is checked at temp & idling.
