Automatic trunk lock does not lock the trunk
My 2000 Jeep has a slight problem. I bought it just last week and when I press the unlock button the trunk does unlock but when I press the lock button it does not lock. I tried changing the power lock fuse, wd-40'd the hinges but nothing worked. I'm worried someone can steal my car if I ever forget to lock the trunk. What can I do? Also I am sorry if i posted in the wrong section.

I've been having the same problem so i bought a new door lock actuator on ebay for under $50 but i can't figure out how to replace it because it doesn't appear to look like the OEM actuator.

Problem solved
I actually just fixed this problem. Got an automatic door lock actuator and was able to find where it went and solution took under 30 min. It is located in bottom-left/middle corner of liftgate if it is opened and you are looking up at it facing rear of the vehicle.

Hey i've had the same problem before.
You say you've wd-40'd the hinges, but have you ever done it to the hatch check and the lock assembly while the hatch is up? Spray a bunch in there
Worked for me when mine would unlock but not lock like yours
