Default AW4 Mount Bolt size please ?

I am missing one of the 2 large bolts that secure the transmission to the mount, heads are 18mm, facing down

The threaded holes in the trans are about 50mm (2") deep and maybe M12

I cannot find a picture or part number for the mount or bolt in the 94-96 Parts Manual (insert whiney emoji)

anyone able to call out the part number or size and thread of this ***** please ?

How are the threads in the bolt holes?

Might have to resort to removing the remaining bolt to determine size anyway. Then LocTite both of them back in.

When I parted out XJs for ofer 10 years, I frequently found those bolts missing or loose.

Remove the other one, take it to a hardware store, buy one the same.

Its a weird one, heard a clunking, got under, the other one was half a turn loose

I put a trans mount in when I got it about 5yrs ago, so no one to blame but me, I can only assume I forgot to Loctite that one, as its mate was still very tight, despite having worked slightly loose

I took one from my spare XJ, and it appears there is no thread damage at all in the missing hole, as I was able to wind it in easy, with loctite blue this time for sure

So yes, I will take the other one out of my spare, and take it across town to the specialist fastener shop

There is a really good parts guy on here, cant find his name, think his moniker is Ralph

I can believe it would be easy for these bolts to work free, when the 2nd one snaps, or drops out, it would be extremely nasty with no rear mount all

My 97-99 parts catalog shows M12 x 1.75 x 25 (#52017887)

Found the 96 catalog, it shows the same part number but no spec.

Nothing special about that, certainly no need for a specialist fastener shop. Might be a bit big for your average hardware store though, so try TSC - or similar.
