AW4 Vent Tube or what?
I found this just laying on top of the transmission. It has a nice bracket on it that looks like it wants to be bolted somewhere. I hoping it's a vent. There was a dribble of trans fluid in it (now on my shirt). Anyone now where this should go? I looked in the AW4 manual and it doesn't show this tube.
Thanks

I wonder if that didn't attach somewhere, then have another segment that goes up to the filter. You might check there where I show mine, see if you have something you can trace back....(the vent should have some sort of filter on the end)
Someone changing the tranny just ripped her free. Been to a shop?

Hard to get a picture. Other end goes to near the driver's side of transmission. I was so filthy working under that transmission, I didn't want to take a camera there. I'm thinking my speed sensor is shot as I can't get it to shift unless I'm in limp mode (TCU off). Then this hose slides off and hits me in the face. I looks like it should have a bolt to attach to (maybe on the bell housing). I zip-tied it up high for now.

Thanks-I hope so!- I just drove it for half and hour and still have fluid so it can't leak too bad LOL.

Attaches to the uppermost bolt holding the trans to the engine on the passenger side.

In other words-a real PITA to put back. I'm wondering if the trans was swapped in at some point in the '87's life time. Why else would that be off it's bolt? Does it go on the same bolts as the CPS by any chance? Can't see any reason for it to be left off. Another mystery.
I thought I had the speed sensor issue fixed but now I get no signal at all from it to the TCU. Before it would work until it heated up. Then I moved the harness around underneath and it worked great for awhile. I was underneath for the fuel pump so I thought I would clean up the wiring mess. Everything is covered in greasy dirt, split loom and zip ties. I'm getting tired!!!
