Default AX5 5spd "catches" when shifting

Stock '92 Cherokee(10/91) w/ AX5 5 spd recently prof rebuilt w/ Luk clutch but still feels like shifter is "catching" as it moves through the gear pattern. Try imagining moving the shift lever through a metal template but that it was catching on the left edge of the template each time the lever was moved. Trans Co tore it down again and replaced the shifting forks they'd put in originally but the problem persists. Occurs between all speed positions and shifting both up and down. New clutch works like silk.
Tranny does shift and go into gear but it's like constantly having to open a door that sticks a little--after a while it drives ya' nuts!
BTW the tranny at145K didn't do this before rebuild--just wouldn't get into 1st/reverse--probably clutch issue more than tranny but wanted to renew everything at once.
I'd appreciate advice as to where to look for the source of this problem.
Update Sun 4/15--I got several posts that pointed to the new clutch so let me clarify. The original rebuild did NOT replace the clutch. I drove it 9K then returned it under warranty because the problem had gotten worse. Since the trans was coming out anyway I decided to replace the clutch at that time. SO- problem existed with both old & new clutch installed.

Something that happens a lot with a new clutch on an old transmission and the adjacent parts is that the clutch is "just too new" and will feel like it's jamming into gears. I had this problem in my 95 Ranger. I then installed a new master cylinder and flywheel and still nothing. I took it to a local 4x4 shop and gave the guy the run down of what I did and he said I'll fix it for $10. Got in the truck, revved it up, and was kind of riding.the clutch and boom done. I know it seems weird but it worked. So that was my case, hope it helped.

My ax15 does the same thing but only in 2nd gear and goes away when it warms up. I have no idea why

Hmm thats interesting about the new clutch. What was the actual effect of doing that? Get something off from manufacturing?

Sounds like your 2nd gear synchro is going out. Mine does the same thing on most gears, depending how I drive it lol.

To both of you: What fluid are you runnig and when was the last change?

What my best guess is, that the new clutch, was designed specifically for the vehicle. But obviously not factory so it may not have matched up exact or was a hair thicker/larger. So by wearing(burning) however you wish to call it, down just a bit it worked fine.
