axle seals leaking

ok so today my dad and i took a closer look at the splines on the end of the axle shaft and realized they were mushroomed in just enough to keep it from sliding through the spider gear.. well by than i was convinced that the whole axle was wasted and i may as well start pulling the assembly out. my dad on the other hand seemed to think that we could fix the splines with a hammer and chisel and to my surprise it actually worked! it still took a good size hammer and pry bar after reworking the end of the splines but we were able to get it out. now i just need a new axle shaft and a set of seals and ill be good to go

Easier to swap in a boneyard axle, as long as you have stock gearing or nothing fancy with the original axle. Those inner seals can be a PITA to do.
