There is NO direct swap in front axle with manual locking hubs. all will require welding on brackets..

D30 (early bronco) / D44 / D60 / buy a hub conversion...

Nothing bolt on though, you'll have to do some custom work and fabrication.

There is also no D35 front axle besides an IFS unit...

Yes, just do a simple search for a D44 axle swap into an XJ. A wagoneer front D44 is a good choice. Also a D60 is a good choice if you want to go full-width or bigger than a 36" tire.

untrue.

Dynatrac and currie make 44's with manual hubs. They will bolt directly in. Just gonna cost you...

I would need to check some fact but
if you can find an old cj5 with a d30 you can swap all the knuckles and outer drive shafts to convert
you original xj will need to have the lager joints to work

and the lug bolt pattern is bigger

3-5 mpg eh

i have locking hubs and there is no difference in mpg with them locked vs unlocked.

do you really think something you can spin by hand is going to decrease your gas milage by 3-5 mpg?
