So my dad was in my Jeep last night. In passenger and while in park he said what the hell do you hear that. And I said yea this is the noise ive been talking about. A grinding noise he said could feel it right under his feet. This noise only happens when in park and if I am at a light or stop sign then accelerate then it doesnt make the sound. He was saying it could be the tcase cause there is only so much that moves when in park that could make a noise like that. I also never checked my 4wd I do know previous owner used it I know the guy and remember it worked well. I just have not had time for wheeling and no need to use it yet on the roads. So what do you guys think thia grinding sound noise could be. And how do you know if your tcase is bad. How many other things could cause this noise.
Also its a 99 xj sport 189,000 miles

Position the Heep on an incline, place the trans in PARK, engine off, see if the Heep rolls and/or you hear the noise again

In an attempt to uncobble the terminology here...
In Cruiser's pic, the "Trans Mount" is called a Bracket, Transmission Mount. The "Exhaust Hanger" is the rod welded to the front exhaust pipe.
The Bracket, Transmission Mount, is OEM part number 52058882.
New ones are not obtainable. Junk yard ones will have the sagging rubber, more than likely.
OP, did you look at the hanger to see if the hanger rod is bent over, or is your rubber worn out, like in the pic, or both? The hanger rod can be bent downward using a jack to raise the exhaust pipe and forcing the rod downward, then welding it in place. This will help raise the pipe off the crossmember.
I inserted a bushing in my rubber piece which helped. I don't have pics of it right now and need to upload them to my photobucket account.
Bottom line...is this your problem?

For what I have been reading sounds like torque converter shift linkage. It doesn't almost make the sound and its a light grinding sound . When I am in park sometimes it makes a bang noise but not always. When I have a little hill or anything vertical it goes back a tiny bit then stops.

If you think it's a bad Torque Converter you may want to try this simple test (below). It may have nothing to do with your problem but it has revealed a bad Torque Converter in the past that was making noise.
If you don't see the fluid level drop to the bottom, as described, the TC could be defective.
