I agree it is not a technically difficult job, but it is definitely time consuming, especially for a first timer.
I've never used a hub puller, I pulled hubs from a yj in a junkyard and it took me a half hour.

i changed my ball joints in the begining of oct. i bought the hf kit and we had a hell of a time gettin the drivers sides out, bent the c-clamp and started smashing the cup thingys. i bought the extra adapter kit and it made it alot easier for passenger side. and used a breaker bar rachet with extra 2 foot pipe extension,oh yea broke the breaker bar too, also exchanged that . i can exchange the messed up kit for new one,not sure if u can for advance auto rental, maybe if you broke it then you gotta keep it? put the new moog zj steering gear on too. got it all together and realized i forgot i needed a new driver side hub bearing, sooo i got a timkin one for 90 bucks in one day. wouldve had it done in a half hour or less, but stupid rain kept coming down. i finished it the next day.

I'll be finally doing mine at the end of this week. I got all four ball joints and the axles seals yesterday. Doing the seals at the same time because my right one is leaking a tad bit. I've got the ball joints out in the freezer in the garage and I'm getting a press from a mechanic buddy. I have Thursday and Friday off this week so it should give me plenty of time to do the work required without having to rush.

Call the auto hobby shop and ask if they have the ball joint press in the shop. I know the one here in jersey has it as I did my ball joints there a few months back. They will help you and you will feel accomplished when done.
