Question for the people who've bypassed it; how much nosier is the fuel pump?
Also if I did decide to bypass it could I just cut off the connectors and join the wires with a barrel connector and wrap with electrical tape?

I don't like crimp connectors, seen too many that failed one way or another. Solder or find a double male blade for the blade connectors. Those you can at least check/clean, unlike the barrel connector. Both mine have the resistor, (one for 13 years). Don't know how it sounds without it. Btw, the pump might last a little longer with the resistor since it is not working as hard.

My '88 parts Cherokee still has it connected and my '87 is jumped. If there is any difference from what I can tell, it's only on the prime when you first turn the key. I think the pump brand could make more of a difference. Jumper it and never look back.
