Using a long wrench, youll move it more at the very end of it, than close to the bolt youre turning. Maybe not, but I would think that would kind of hold true.

Previous owner just said he did a trans service of fluid and filter.
Looks good, doesn't smell burnt.
Now be putting the transfercase in neutral, not hearing the bang...wouldn't that mean transmission shouldn't be causing it? Just a trouble shooting process I was thinking.

TV cable...that's a good idea, ill look up adjustment of that.

Pinion has no in or out, side to side play.

I have to put rear brakes on today, so ill check everything while im under it...ex U bolts.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick with the Control response, trust me, not what I'm aiming for.

I don't want someone else diagnosing this, Id like to learn myself. I'm not a know it all, I'm 21 and only been at the dealership and in the field for a year. Other than that, it's what I use to do on my other car, 1993 Eagle talon. I'm more than capable of learning. I've rebuilt the engine in that, along with other engines...mainly chevys. Not the point, not bragging.

Just looking for ideas...when I did my U joint, I saw the slip yoke was dry...I'm going to try and grease that. Also heard of old drums egging out the lug holes..causing a slip and bang. Its just hard to exactly locate where the bang is coming from.

How are the bushings in springs.
Engine idle not too high?
When was trans fluid last changed? What did it look and smell like then?
Ever adjust TV cable?

Though it "MIGHT" be a bit hazardis, have someone you trust shift form P-R and back and forth while you poke yo noggin under it. Have to do it the same as you "normaly" do, IE. if you don't press brake while shifting, neither should test dummy.
I did this, just pretty hard to exactly locate where its coming from. Now that I saw that "back lash", im going to have my friend do it again and see if the noise follows the driveshaft taking up the lash.

Engine idles around 750 I would say, as long as that's the line under 1000rpm?

I was thinking the spring bushings...they look healthy and not much play with a pry bar
