You've done good - I see that sort of thing all the time. Then again, most people aren't as thorough about maintenance as some of us are...

I do, however, stand by my comments on dielectric grease. It's not as bad as WD-40 for screwing up electrical connections, but it comes close (when not used properly)

Which is what I've been saying all along. It is used to seal and to lubricate sealing elements. It is not used to directly protect metal connecting bits.

Why not just buy cables from 5-90? Check out his site with links in his post above. I do my own electrical work but I have never seen anything but praise for his product from those who have ordered from him.

For one thing, he knows exactly what electrical setup you have and the length cables you need for the various XJ model years.

I am by no means knocking the other suppliers of custom cables and I have no dog in the hunt but I would suggest you at least look at his site for comparison.

Also, in case their is any question, 5-90 is absolutely correct about the use of dielectric grease. I have gotten to the point where I just shrug when someone describes how they have slathered the stuff in, on and around every electrical connection they can find in their Jeep.
