Default Bearing noise?

I just finished my rear main seal and now have an odd noise periodically. Cannot get it to make the noise on it's own. Just comes and goes. Not bad, but can hear it sometimes. A squealing type noise. Very quiet.

Haven't put but two miles since replacing the seal. Torqued the mains back to spec. Even removed the end main cap a second time because I forgot to rtv the two ends of the seal. Then re-torqued it. New oil pan and gasket. No leaks so far except for the valve cover gasket running down the starter and cover.

I searched some an cannot find something similar.

Thanks guys!

I also had to loosen the oil sump pickup but just tightened it til it was tight. Could this make noise?

I really hope I don't run into any problems doing mine this weekend. Any tips? Sorry to hijack the thread, but I wanted to make sure to get notifications and follow this to get more info for when I do my seal. My best guess is the new seal just breaking in. Maybe it has to soften up a bit.

I only let it idle for 20 mins and drove it up and down the street. It's 20 deg out here. The seal area looks good though.

when does it seem to do it the most? If it is under acceleration then i would have to guess that you might be hearing your fuel pump. I can hear mine occasionally.

Also gotta ask, how are your brakes, do you have any rocks in them, how is your serpentine belt? I have done repairs on mine and had her start giving me noises from other areas that were not related.

The truck is clean no rocks or debris on the undercarriage or wheels. Also brand new pads, rotors, calipers.

It made the noise, whoo whoo, when I drove it today. Drove it 25 miles and it made the noise three times. It is not persistent or predictable.

What does a noisy fuel pump sound like?

Sounds like passenger side down low or near the blower motor.

Are blower motors prone to making an odd noise?

Blower motors can make a noise more annoying than dial up. A whoo, whirr, and all sorts of noises like that. Can be short bursts or last for a minute or two. Mine does it periodically.

They can be loud enough to scare the hell outta you, or just a faint noise to confuse you of where it's coming from.

I think that sometimes after a repair, we are listening so closely, that we hear sounds that were always there but we weren't hearing before.

No noises? That's a surprise from a jeep. I've thought I heard noises plenty of times after doing repairs. It's just what happens. We go through the hell of an intensive repair and then freak out hoping to never do it again. Then we hear noises and get convinced we screwed somethin up.
