Behold, my cup holder design
So even though I have an auto, I still like to be able to use my handbrake. The Crown Automotive cup holder was usable but I never really liked it. This is my solution:
Three screws to mount it, lifts straight out if 4WD is wanted and puts the cup in an comfortably accessible position for both LHD and RHD.
File download link for anyone who is interested is here.

I just used the stock side mounted cup holder and put a self tapper right thought the middle into the center console. Works like a champ and doesn't fall off anymore.

I was looking at one of those but in a RHD, it'd catch my leg. If it wasn't for that I probably would have got one.

I did the same, albeit with two screws, one behind each cup holder. I also used a countersink to keep them flush. I don’t know how I survived without my cup holders!

My 2000 XJ has 2 inline cup holders in front of the center glove box and it's a Sport model. No cruise, no ABS.

Yeah, I kinda noticed the console was way different. The only thing I find not so good about XJs is the lack of storage space for stuff in the front seat area. I got used to the rubber mats on top of the dash in my WJ.
