belt squeal pulling hair please help
Okay first thing I replaced the belt alternator and water pump. It still squeals now u put any kind of lubricant anything it will stop the squealing. Here the thing I notice different the belt rides on the clutch fan pulley and the water pump more towards the back. Like you can see a groove where the belt used to ride like it seems too far back on the water pump pulley and the clutch fan pulley now just using the eye nothing looks crooked. I can't figure it out but ya put any kind of lubrication on the belt it's quiet until the lubricant wears off back to constant squealing. Please help thanks plus the belt is crazy tight I've loosened it tried it a million times so it's not the tension.

^^^^ this is most likely the problem. also sometimes the tensioner pully itself squeaks cause of a few different reasons. mine did it cause it had warped and it did it again cause the pully itself was loose (as in the nut that holds it on came loose, not the tension adj. bolt.)

When it's daylight I'll take a pic of the belt riding towards the back of the wp pulley and there's no tensioner so rule that out

the belt rides back on my water pump pulley, but the water pump pulley is wide and smooth, as long as it rides fully on the surface it should be fine.
You need to make sure all the groves of the belt are on all the pulleys.
The belt should be VERY tight. less than 1/2 inch deflection between the water pump pulley and the power steering pulley.
How old is the belt? If it is more than 3 years old it may be dry rotted. Also, if it is a Dayco belt, it is defiantly the belt. (Dayco are bad belts) you want a Bando.
If it is really moist out it could just be moisture. Spray the belt with engine running with WD-40. Should solve any moisture issue if that is the case.
Now if the pulleys are cocked (not vertical parallel to each other) then you have bigger problems. Look at each of the individual parts you replaced and inspect them carefully.

These belts like to be CRAZY tight. I had the same issue and someone told me to do the 90 degree test. You should be able to twist the belt 90 degrees. If it goes past 90, its too loose. If it wont go to 90, its too tight. Simple and worked great for me.

It is a dayco belt brand new today and from the looks it looks like they all ride true except for the smooth fan pulley and the water pump pulley they look like they are riding to the back wonder how to check my harmonic balancer ? Also where can I get that other belt Bc that's all autozone and advanced offers?

get a gatorback belt and a tensioner tool like a kricket over at Napa. check the specs on the tension at jeepforums with the thread I posted.
I had the belt squealing when I bought the car. Those things solved it for good.

I got mine at a very obscure parts store in Tampa. Spent hours looking for one and called around everywhere.
My first guess would be to start here:
http://www.goodyearep.com/productsdetail.aspx?id=3128
I got mine for something around $38; cheaper than dayco if I remember right.. One time that quality didn't cost extra money.
It is a very very quiet belt if it tensioned right
