Default Belt squeal's when AC is on

Hey guy's my belt is squealing when I turn the AC on. My tensioner pulley was bad so I replaced it and put a new belt on it. I tightened the tension screw on it so the belt isn't loose and their isn't any moisture on the belt that could cause the squealing. Any help or idea's on where to look next would be appreciated, thanks! The Jeep is a 98 4.0

Your belt is probably still too loose. Or you have a poor quality belt. Those belts need to be extremely tight.

Sort of busy and can't access my files. No harm in running water slow with a garden hose, adding Dawn dish soap, more water, more soap, then a really long rice till all the soap is gone. It's OK to get things there wet. If there was a film of oil, coolant, whatever, this can really help.

If you're talking about V-belts, the pulleys can get too shiny and worn wide. If that's the case, you can try a slightly wider belt, as in replacing a 3/8 belt with a 13/32 belt. That was the trick on Chevy small blocks. This was called the "Corvette" belt because that's what they used. The Corvette belt was a slightly different angle also and sat higher in the pulley. The stock belt used to flip over on my Camaro when drag racing and the 'vette belt cured that. JMHO, but use Gates belts.

Most likely just a loose tensioner. Mine was doing this even with a new pulley and belt. Removed aux fan and loosened my idler bolt, then tighten down the tensioner bolt some more and re tighten the idler bolt. Solved mine.

You don't need to remove the auxiliary fan to loosen the tensioner pulley. A box end wrench will work.

The thing with new belts is, they stretch relatively quick so they require a few adjustments in the beginning of their life until they stop stretching. This is where auto tensioners are sooo nice lol. I expect to make 2-3 adjustments for a new belt until she's happy.

These belts need to be pretty tight or they will squeak. Its an easy adjustment.
