Belt tension?
I'm trying to get rid of a belt squeak, and my belt seems pretty tight and I'm still getting a squeak, Just don't want to over tighten and damage bearings anyone have a tip or trick?

The best why that I have found to tighten the belt if you don't have a tension gauge. Is tighten it a little bit at a time until the squeak goes away. Also try running the A/C after. The extra drag from the A/C will also cause it to squeak. Like 1996sportJX said make sure that it is the belt and not one of the pulleys.

the squeak goes away if I drop a little dish soap on the belt but comes back after a few min, so I'm 99% sure its a belt issue, and the belt is only a few months old.

If it stops when you put the soap on it it is the belt. They do have to be really tight. Just tighten a little at a time like I mentioned earlier and you should be fine.
