Default bench in my cherokee and coloum conversion

ok so the other night i got bored and started thinking about my jeep and wondering if any1 has tried or has this but im wanting 2 put a bench in the front but i dont no if it would be possable and also wanting 2 make it coloum shift insted floor

im sure it can be done..didnt the truck models come with bench ?

Comanches came with a bench, and the Police models have column shift. So it can be done, you just have to find the parts.

and did the cherokee cop ones have it in the insterment or like it sepreated from it

Keep in mind, you'll also have to remove the center console if you want a bench seat. The Comanches didn't come with the center console, but the rest is the same on the interior other than column shift, so it should definitely be possible to do. You'll have to find a way to seal up the hole where the floor shifter went, though.

Comanches used a "Mini console" like this:

I dont know what you would use for an ebrake, It looks like the comanches with bench seats used the foot pedal type ebrakes. As you can see, there is no lever here:

like in older vehicles how they have the coloum shift like prnd123 and it was right after the steering wheel some had it in a little case

The Comanches also ran the Cherokee consoles and then the little Bitty one for the bench seat models... a bench seat model would work fine if you swapped in a bench seat for the front... I have a buddy that just happened to have leather nice explorer seats and he took his xj's out.. sat the explorers in and drilles new holes... alittle plate style washer on the bottom and its nice as heck.... they bolt in flat on the floorboards...
