Post Bent front axle...need some input.

I just bought a 2001 Cherokee that was in an accident, and it has a bent front axle that I am going to swap. I noticed that all of the JY list 2000-2001 for the axle, it's 3:55 w/o ABS. I always thought they were all inter-changeable and now I am reading about high pinion, low pinion.

Can I go for any year?

If I go with '99 and prior, what will I have to change, if anything?

Please help.

Thanks,
Dusty

Great!

I had a '99 that still had the tag on the rear, but that is not always the case.

Do I have to pull the diff cover off to find the gear ratio, or is it stamped somewhere else?

Most of the autos are 3.55

on the ring gear there are 2 numbers
for example
19 44

44/19=2.31

that will be your ratio
