You should have a hobby shop on base that will have every tool you need. at least every base i have been to and been stationed at does.

everywhere i went also did... boy was it nice when i installed my 3.5 lift on my ZJ... i just ran a extension cord out in the parking lot and did everything i needed too... lol... in fact i pulled a 79 power wagon down to the frame in the barracks parking lot... lol... one closet for cloths... the other was full of tools... lol... they once ticked me off real bad about my room being dirty and made me re-clean it... so i got out the pressure washer and pressure washed the concrete outside of my room... and the brick wall they were even more PO'd... lol... boy was my area clean though!!! lol

looks ok for minor pulling, if you are just going for looks its pretty much just a steel bar. a pretty pricey steel bar. do you want a winch mount, or a prerunner style tube bumper, or what? there are quite a few companies that make quality bumpers...

if you are going to put it to use (as it hooking up straps and tugging), you want the most mounting points you can get.

AHAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT!!! My base is super small... you can walk from one end to the other in less than 2 minutes... We have a motor pool but thats for gov vehicles only.. See its a tracking station and the base is just here to support the employees. Im a civilian, there's only 2 active duty people actually living here; the major and sargent. It's not like a normal air force base, where you have all the amenities to improve the quality of life for the people on base.. It's basically a housing base... And no goat pictures.. Once you hit them you gotta haul *** because if you get caught you have to pay the owner like 5 generations worth of goats for killing the one..

If you want something like that might as well buy the jcr bumper..
http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/...egory_Code=XJB

its $230 and with 20% off its 184.. It fits alot better than the ebay bumper looks like it does.. And I don't know about the quality of the ebay bumper but I know for a fact on the jcr bumpers the welds are REALLY GOOD and it's strong as fk. If you plan on doing recovery though get the tie in brackets.. so worth it.

Yes, I just want to something to replace the old, dented bumper. I don't plan to do much off road, so no winch mount or other toys for me. A steel bar actually works for me. Where I can get a cheaper price for this kind of bumper?
One thing I like this ebay bumper is that the bumper is powder coated. I live in a rented house without garage and driveway. I am sure the landlord and neighbours won't like to see me messing around with paint sprayer. So I pretty much limited to painted bumper.

Sorry for the long input, XJ folks, do you know any place sell Painted, steel bar bumper for Cheap? Thanks.

it's probably still cheaper to buy the jcr and get it powder coated... You dont HAVE to do everything yourself ya know.. People make livings powder coating and painting things.. support a local business..

I was in a similar situation about getting a front bumper. I wanted something nice but didn't want to pay the price tag for it. Honestly, if you are looking for something on the cheap side, try and find someone who is willing to build you one and work with them on the price.
I was able to find someone that lived 15 min from me and got the bumper of my dreams for an awesome price.
