Default best place to buy vacuum fittings/lines?

I had a poor vacuum elbow on my intake manifold. I went down to NAPA expecting ever type of vacuum part every made to be in stock. All I wanted was a 1/4" elbow. They went through the computer and then hauled out the paper books. They don't carry it. So I went to Auto Zone and bought one of the Dorman Help parts for $1.09. Made in China. I cut it to size and it will work. But the hassle left me wondering, what about all the other vacuum fittings that I may need one day? Where is the best place to buy them?

I had the same experience recently and went to several parts stores. I ended up buying a Dorman elbow in the "Help" isle at Advance Auto Parts. It's probably the same one you found. I did notice they had a package with several different size fittings as well so if I need another I'll try this.

Some vacuum lines or fittings could only be found at the dealership....

I have a 2001 XJ.

I figured the molded hard lines would be dealer only, but thought that the basic elbows and T's should be commonly available.

I didn't see a dealer listing for the part, but maybe I didn't look in the right place.
