Check out Detours back bone if you want a strong rear bumper with stock appearance.

AJ just redesigned his hinge for tire carriers. I talked to him, and he is confident that his new hinge is more then 150% stronger then the ones he used to use. They are pretty sweet setups.

Well worth the extra money IMO.

That first ad, said that their bumpers mount to the stock locations...you will want something that mounts to the nutserts as well

I'm not sure what type of wheeling you plan on getting into, but a tire mounted to the back of my Jeep would be a hinderance, something to get hung up on.

the problem with that is the only other option there is other than having your spare in the cargo area is putting it on the roof and not only is that a pain in the butt to get it up and down it also raises the center of gravity since a fullsize spare weighs about 75-80 lbs. it also adds way more wind drag while driveing on the highway than what a rear tire carrier would produce.

i have the front and love it as it is very functional with angles as well as tow points and anchoring the winch hook to. I have not purchased the rear yet I am actually trying to sell me XJ you can read it up in the for sale section, if I dont have any luck and can manage my wifes medical bill without selling it I would love too just does not look too promising as another came in today for 2k............ouch
