I had the BFG A/T's and they were great here in the Florida sand. I coundn't even get stuck in 2WD most of the time...not bad in the mud down here either, considering it is not a mud specific tire.

why? Same price (essentially), better treadwear on the firestones, and better in almost every category? Not knocking them they're good tires but seriously

The one thing I don't like about the Grabbers is that the size I'm looking for (245/70R16) isn't severe snow rated, and I drive in the snow A LOT.

Exactly what I was getting at. And I'm guessing he's running the grabbers. Not saying they're junk because I've ran them but I guess what each person runs is best?

Never used firestones, but I've run 2 sets of the BFGs and thought they handle exceptionally well in snow. Only problem, like you said, is a little loose in the rain around corners. I just watch the skinny pedal while cornering and no problems with spin out in a long time.

Cherryokee's been running BFG Radial T/A P235/60R15 as summer funning/running tires since 2001. Running in soft sands on CC-MA, they air-down and mushroom-out very nicely and don't tear-up the beach. Tread's getting thin and handling on-road was getting sketchy last fall before I got my Flintstone WinterForces. Eyeballed today (with a penny) and 2 out of 5 of the BFG tires have a season left in them - the other three, well, I could see Abe's hair. What would youz guyz do?

I purchased the Grabbers (235's) a month ago at $109 ea. and the BFG's were $138 ea. The difference between them paid for the dismount/mount/ & balancing. I also considered the Destinations but after seeing them on a coworker's ride, I thought that they weren't aggressive enough for my needs.
The bottom line here is to select a tire that meets your needs and budget. Compromises will inevitably have to be made.....
*Footnote - Shortly after installing the Grabbers we got dumped on with 16" of snow. I was surprised at how well the Grabbers clawed through it.

How about Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs?
They have great reviews, everyone Ive ever asked praises them, they are pinned for studs, have the snowflake on all sizes, are pretty good in mud, cost a little more than BFGs and you can get a $40 dollar rebate... they will still cost more, but eh, at least you feel like youre saving money.
Although not technically an AT tire, they arent really a MT tire, so they still fit in this threads perview.
I have never personally run them so take what I say with a grain of salt.
