Big problem with door locks/clicking hatch
So I'm having problems with my door locks and hatch lock...It seems to be worse than most peoples'...Anyways, when I try to lock my doors with the switches, they don't unlock most of the time. Or they unlock, but as soon as I let go of the unlock button, they immediately lock again. I can sometimes hear a click sound when they try to unlock? Sometimes I hear nothing. Also, the back doors don't unlock when I pull the inside handle like the front ones do...So if I can't get the back ones open, I just throw my stuff in from the front. I can sometimes unlock them by holding the unlock switch and then manually unlock them while holding the switch with the other hand...It's a pain when you have something in your hand. Sometimes I have my brother hold the switch for me while I unlock the door if I can't reach the door and switch at the same time...The hatch doesn't unlock by power either and sometimes takes a few tries with the key. Same with the door. And then it will make a repeated clunking noise for between 2 and 10 seconds or until I slam the door. Or sometimes I slam the door and it starts clunking...Oh, and if it matters, if I hit my auto-down on my driver's window, sometimes it won't go down, so I let go of the button and pound the side of the door switch panel until the window magically goes down...The doors seem like they're on a constant lock. Like there's always power going to the locks. Also, they lock themselves so I roll down the window if I have to warm up the jeep while I'm loading it.
Hoping it's an easy fix...

Older 90's Cherokees were known for having a difficult time delivering enough electricity to overpower funking on the locks. Hit them with something to clean them. Brake cleaner can hurt the paint. Soapy water won't hurt the paint, then lubricate them with something appropriate that hopefully won't attract much gunk soon.
Also, voltage is higher with the engine/alternator running. Try running after a cleaning. If that solves it, then it is just an issue of not enough voltage to fully move as it is. You can clean multiple times and lubricate or consider running lower gauge wiring and/or a more direct wiring to the battery.

My locks started to repeated lock/unlock for several seconds at a time. Eventually they got to the point where it felt as if the locks were stuck in the locked position. This issue started abruptly in August, but I just pulled the fuse as I didn’t have time to fool with the issue then. The hatch lock will also repeatedly lock/unlock independently of the 4 door locks.

Yeah, I guess that would be beneficial, lol. It’s a 99 Cherokee Sport, 4 door. The wires between the doors look good, and I resoldered the solder joints on the driver side switch panel. Haven’t checked the passenger side yet.

It is common for those later years of the '90's to break in the jam of the door. Try to test for continuity between the wires at the connector insead of visual wear in the rubber boot.
