Default black dome thing
I havn't seen any cherokee's with this,i have a black half dome thing hanging from the headliner towards the windshield, above the rearview mirror, looks like a store security camera, but waaaaaay smaller, what is it???? il try and get a pic!

Don't mess with it.

It is the sensor for the optional ejection seat.

Maybe the OP's Jeep is either a Police Package Cherokee that was sold at auction when they were done with it; or one that never made it into police service.

I thought it might be a sonar muffler-bearing oscillator disruptor sensor! but i see the cut-off year for that option was 87-90, Thus, eliminating that theory, must be the MR.FUSION optical receiver!!! for the cloaking device!!!

I thought it was keyless entry but your def on to something. I think I will do some research.lmao

It was about 1991 that Chrysler accelerated replacing AMC technology with some of their own.
